 1997 Brazilian Grand Prix

1997 Brazilian Grand Prix

$63.99

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 1997 Brazilian Grand Prix was a Formula One race held at Autódromo José Carlos Pace near Interlagos, Brazil on March 30, 1997. It was the second race of the 1997 Formula One Season. Between the Australian and Brazilian grands prix, Mastercard withdrew their sponsorship from the Lola team. This meant that sponsorless cars were shipped to Brazil. However, they were forced to stay in the garage for the weekend as there was no longer any money for the team. After the race the team officially resigned from the championship. Jacques Villeneuve took his second consecutive, and his career fifth, pole position after a 1:16.004, over half a second faster than Michael Schumacher in second. Gerhard Berger and Mika Häkkinen completed the second row. The race was red-flagged after several incidents at the original start. As in Australia, Jacques Villeneuve went off the track at the first corner. Behind this, an incident involved several drivers including Damon Hill, Eddie Irvine, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jan Magnussen. Irvine took some blame for the incident.

 2004 Canadian Grand Prix

2004 Canadian Grand Prix

$69.99

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 2004 Canadian Grand Prix was a Formula One race held on June 13, 2004 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. It was won by Michael Schumacher and his teammate Rubens Barrichello came second, making for a 1-2 finish for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro as part of a season where Ferrari took the most wins of the season and the driver’s championship. In the post race inspections, Williams and Toyota were excluded from the race due to illegal brake ducts. The 2004 Canadian Grand Prix nearly didn’t happen, originally being dropped from the calendar in 2003 but later reinstated. The issue was tobacco sponsorship. It was the eighth race of the 2004 Formula One season, and was the first of two North American consecutive rounds. The Canadian Grand Prix 2004 was one of drama, but at the finish line Michael Schumacher took his 77th career victory, his 7th win of the 2004 season, and his 7th win in Canada. The Renaults were fast off the line as was expected, but a suspension failure put Jarno Trulli out of the race before he’d reached the second corner.

 2005 Hungarian Grand Prix

2005 Hungarian Grand Prix

$74.99

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 2005 Hungarian Grand Prix was a Formula One race, held on July 31, 2005 at the Hungaroring circuit. The 2005 Hungarian Grand Prix was the thirteenth race of the 2005 Formula One season, and saw the beginning of the end of tobacco advertising in F1 due to the Europe-wide ban. McLaren (West) and B•A•R (Lucky Strike) ran with tobacco livery on Friday and Saturday before withdrawing it for the race, while Ferrari (Marlboro) and Renault (Mild Seven) ran full tobacco livery for the entire weekend. McLaren announced that Scotch whisky producer Johnnie Walker would take over the team’s title sponsorship for the remainder of the year. Michael Schumacher surprised the paddock by taking his first pole position of the season, causing speculation that he was running a light first fuel load in order to build a gap on a circuit on which overtaking is notoriously difficult. Beside him on the front row was Juan Pablo Montoya, nearly 9 tenths behind.

Excerpt: Tomá Enge (Czech pronunciation: ) (born 11 September 1976 in Liberec) is a motor racing driver from the Czech Republic, who has competed in many classes of motorsport, including three races in Formula One. He started his career at the age of 16, entering a Ford Fiesta he bought with his own money in the Czechoslovakian Ford Fiesta Cup. He participated in the final three races of the 2001 F1 season, debuting on 16 September at the Italian Grand Prix. Enge was brought in as a replacement for Luciano Burti after the latter’s crash in the Belgian race, becoming his country’s first F1 driver. The Prost team folded before the start of the 2002 season, leaving Enge without a drive. He obtained his F1 break using the sponsorship from the local Coca-Cola subsidiary, which had also funded the Nordic Racing F3000 team he raced for that year. He finished 3rd in the 2001 standings despite missing the final race, and was stripped of the 2002 title due to a positive marijuana test . He returned to F3000 in 2004, and then headed to America for 2005, driving for Panther Racing in the IRL, with modest success. Among his 17 career IRL starts was his rookie start in the 2005 Indianapolis 500. He then drove for Team Czech Republic in the 2005-2006 A1GP season. Enge has also been a frequent driver for Prodrive’s sportscar teams, driving both their Ferrari 550 Maranellos and Aston Martin DBR9s in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2006 he was driver of the #007 Aston Martin Racing entry in the American Le Mans Series, but for 2007 will switch to the Petersen/White Lightning Ferrari F430. On 31 March 2007, Enge was injured whilst driving his F430 at the ALMS St. Petersburg race. The car crashed whilst leading the GT2 class, suffering heavy damage to the driver’s side and … More:
