grand prix transmission
how much does it cost for a new transmission for a 1997 pontiac grand prix?

any ideas?
well im not exactly sure how many miles are on it but i remember it being ALOT

Depends who’s doing the work…I’ve done tranny swaps on cars for under $800, but that was where I had all of the required tools and stuff…If you take it to a mechanic, don’t be surprised if it costs upwards of $2,000

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Argentine Grand Prix was a round of the Formula One championship, held intermittently from 1953 to 1998. Although it is no longer on the Formula One calendar, the race has a long and varied history. Argentine president Juan Perón was the driving force behind the creation of the circuit, after seeing the success of the country’s own Juan Manuel Fangio. Built just outside of Buenos Aires on swampland in 1952, the “Autódromo”, as it was known, featured a white archway dedicated to the memory of Admiral Guillermo Brown (William Brown). The circuit opened in March 1952 with the running of the “Perón Cup”, which was won by Fangio. In 1953, the Autodrome hosted the first ever Formula One race held outside Europe. The race saw native son Fangio retire his Maserati after 36 laps due to a transmission failure; Alberto Ascari’s victory for Ferrari was overshadowed by a stadium accident which killed nine people. The following year, Fangio did reach the top step of the podium, winning his home Grand Prix on his second attempt; he would go on to win three of the next four Grands Prix in Argentina.

Excerpt: Bertil Roos (born October 12, 1943 ) is a former racing driver from Gothenburg , Sweden . He participated in a single Formula One Grand Prix, his home race in 1974, from which he retired with transmission failure. Despite enjoying early promise in winning the US Formula Super Vee title in 1973, and also doing well in Formula 2 in Europe and Formula Atlantic in Canada , Roos only received one shot at Formula One. He and his team, Shadow , did not get on particularly well, and ultimately the team chose to work with Tom Pryce instead. Roos went back to the USA and Canada, where he continued racing. In 1975, he created an eponymous racing school in Pennsylvania, USA near Pocono Raceway . The school is accredited by the SCCA to be able to recommend graduates for race licenses at the regional and national levels. . Still racing in the 1980s, Roos was a two-time Can-Am champion in the 2 liter and under category.
